A Case Report of Acute Compression Fracture Patient Complaining of Coldness of Right Low Extremity Treated with Hwangryunhaedok-tang Pharmacopuncture

Abstract
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Hwangryunhaedok-tang pharmacopucture on
cold hypersensitivity of right leg in a 80-year-old female patient.

Methods : Patient was treated with Hwangryunhaedok-tang pharmacopuncture on right ST35, GB34, GB39, BL56, BL57,
SP9, SP6 and LR4. Treatment progress was assessed by coldness diary, coldness drawing, the skin temperature on
ST36, SP6, LR3, KI1, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI-K) and EQ-5D. The treatment was executed once per a day
between August 17- September 9, 2022.

Results : The range and extent of patient¡¯s subjective symptoms were decreased. The skin temperature on 4 acupoints was increased. The time takes to fall asleep was decreased. The EQ-5D changed from 0.423 to -0.056.

Conclusions : The result suggest Hwangryunhaedok-tang pharmacopuncture can be a valuable option to relieve acute
idiopathic unilateral cold hypersensitivity.
